metrobus is a new, modern public transport service for the greater Bristol area.

metrobus offers faster, more frequent and more reliable services with direct routes to key destinations. It uses new, modern, environmentally-friendly vehicles with USB sockets and free Wi-Fi. The buses have an extra pair of doors to speed up getting on and off.

We’re also a ‘buy before you board service’ with ticket machines at every stop, for quicker journeys.

m1 - Cribbs Causeway to Hengrove

Line m1 metrobus

Operated by Bristol Community Transport

The m1 runs from Cribbs Causeway to Hengrove and calls at Broadmead, the City Centre, Bedminster, Inns Court and Hengrove as well as UWE, Stoke Gifford, Bradley Stoke, Aztec West, and Patchway.

The first bus to depart both Cribbs Causeway and Hengrove Park :

  • 06:00 Monday – Saturday
  • 09:00  Sunday

The last bus to depart both Cribbs Causeway and Hengrove Park :

  • 0:00 Monday- Sunday

m2 - Long Ashton Park & Ride to city centre

Line m2 metrobus

Operated by First West of England

The m2 serves Long Ashton Park & Ride, Ashton Vale, Ashton Gate, Cumberland Basin, Spike Island, Redcliff Hill, Temple Meads, Cabot Circus and Broadmead.

You can park your car for free and there is no need to display a ticket in the Long Ashton Park and Ride. It opens from 5.30am Monday to Saturday.

The first bus to depart Long Ashton Park and Ride  :

  • 06:00 Monday – Saturday
  • The m2 does NOT operate on a Sunday. 

The last bus to depart Bristol City Centre (Cabot Circus) :

  • 21:53 Monday – Saturday
  • The m2 does NOT operate on a Sunday.

m3- Emersons Green to City Centre

Line m2 metrobus

Operated by First West of England

The m3 metrobus operates from Emersons Green and calls at Lyde Green Park and Ride, Bristol & Bath Science Park, Emerald Park Industrial Estate, the University of the West of England (UWE), Cabot Circus and the city centre.

The m3x is an express commuter service serving the City Centre from Lyde Green Park and Ride. It does NOT call at the university.

The first bus to depart Lyde Green Park and Ride:

  • 06:00 Monday- Saturday ; 08:55 Sunday m3
  • 06:45 Monday- Friday m3x

The last bus to depart Bristol City Centre (C2)

  • 21:05 Monday – Saturday ; 18:40 Sunday m3
  • 18:20 Monday – Friday. m3x

The service uses the new bus-only junction on the M32 to travel directly to and from UWE. The new junction which was built for metrobus means services bypass Junction 1 and Filton Road which are often congested during peak travel times.

The m3 also uses new and improved bus lanes across the city that were built for metrobus, including the recently extended bus lane on the M32 and the new bus lanes in the city centre.

metrobus uses a simple fare structure which makes it easier to buy tickets.

All existing First mTickets and paper tickets are valid on metrobus.

You need a valid ticket BEFORE getting on metrobus, as the driver will not be able to sell you one.

Buying your ticket before you get on metrobus means our boarding times are up to five times faster.

This, coupled with two sets of doors (one to get on, one to get off), means less delays and quicker journeys for everyone!
