Eight themed zones take you on a fascinating journey from the British coastline through warmer waters to exotic tropical seas featuring a stunning display of living corals.

From the hidden world of UK coasts, you are transported to the beautiful ‘underwater gardens’ of the Mediterranean, tropical rainforests, mangrove pools and the stunning beauty of coral reefs – home to everything from seahorses and puffer fish to living corals and tropical sharks.

Walkthrough underwater tunnel

Enjoy the closest of undersea encounters in an underwater walk-through tunnel through the reef, from inside a glass cavern and via bubble-helmet viewing points.

Displays

Please note, all displays are subject to change at any time.

Sadly we said goodbye to our giant Pacific octopus, Elsa in May. Giant Pacific octopus live for 2-4 years, with both males and females not living very long after breeding. Females live long enough to tend to their eggs, which can be for weeks or months, and usually die soon afterwards as they do not eat during this period. This display area is now home to a number of curled octopus, native to our UK waters!

Caution! Our floor surfaces change throughout the aquarium and for safety reasons we advise visitors not to wear stiletto heels during a visit.
